Brighten Your Next Sunday Brunch With This Colorful DIY

Looking for an adorably stylish DIY for your next Sunday brunch? Look no further! This washi tape paper straw project from Paper and Pin is sure to wow all your brunch buddies.

These days, what party isn't complete without some paper straws? Well, that's certainly how I felt when I was prepping for last week's Knit in Public Workshop for Raglan St Wears! I know, I know, they're actually not very good as straws and always end up getting soggy. But they're just so dang cute I couldn't resist! So I decided to jazz them up a bit with some washi to make them extraspecial. This little DIY is inspired by one of the most popular DIYs on my blog — my washi tape paperclip flags — and is so quick and easy! So let's get started on these DIY washi tape paper straws!

First, you'll need:

  • Paper straws (grab some from any party supply shop!)
  • Washi tape
  • Scissors

Start by sticking a strip of washi around a straw. Make sure to line up the edges!

Then take your scissors and cut the washi into a cute flag shape. Combining different shapes and patterns can look extracute, so don't be afraid to mix it up!

And you're done! It's literally that easy and such a fab way to work through your washi stash. Plus, all your guests will be able to recognize their drinks based on the flags. No more orphaned cups!

So for your next event, add a little washi cuteness with these straws! They're so adorable, they'll (almost!) make up for the mouthful of sogginess that paper straws usually end up as. Ah well, anything for cuteness, right?
