Panteón Antiguo was founded in the 16th century right outside the city of Oaxaca. The most noteworthy event here is the Day of the Dead, when visitors gather to welcome their loved ones who are believed to find their way back the next couple days. The celebration consists of food and festive decorations, including candles and figurines.
