OK, I know this a controversial topic. Lots of people reserve a certain place in hell for passengers who store their backpacks and coats in the overhead compartments. And I can understand this sentiment if the plane is full and people are fighting for slivers of space or if you've never thought of how flat-out disgusting it is to put your bag on the floor. I mean, take a second and think about all the places the bottoms of your shoes have been, not to mention the bottom of the shoes of the many, many people that sat in that seat before you.
