As an allergy sufferer and cat owner, I know having an air purifier in my home is important. I own a few, but ones I bought for my bedroom have somehow migrated into the living room and my boyfriend's office (I'm going to let that one slide). Now that we have a new kitten at home, we realized it was time for a new one in our bedroom. I decided on this TruSens Air Purifier ($249) for one main reason: it does the thinking for you.

Unlike anything else I've ever owned, this purifier comes with a remote SensorPod that is constantly measuring the air quality in your room and goes to work. This way it quietly works without you even having to pay attention to it. When we first plugged it in, it said the air quality in our room was between 20-30, and it went straight into turbo drive pushing new filtered air into our space. Within minutes, our air quality was down to 5, and I was impressed.

Another feature that really sold me was that the device has dual airflow technology. It blows out two airstreams at a time, and the brand boasts that this has been proven in tests to be 24 percent more efficient in creating a clean air environment.

You can manually change its settings from whisper to medium settings and turbo mode. I always leave mine on auto, though, and let it do the work for me. It even has a night mode, which I often use when I sleep, because it is quieter and the lights turn off and don't bother me. It also features UV light sterilization to help kill and destroy viruses and bacteria that can build up in the air filter. Lastly, you can choose a filter for it that works best for your home. I choose one for pet dander, but it has plenty of other options depending on your needs.

After just a few nights, my boyfriend and I noticed a huge difference in our bedroom. The overall air feels crisp and fresh just walking into the room. Sleeping feels a lot easier, too; we no longer wake up feeling like we have a stuffy nose from allergies. If you've been thinking about getting a purifier, this is the one I would recommend. It comes in a few different sizes, depending on your room size, so you can choose the right one for your space. Keep reading to shop some options and get one to freshen up your home.
