One of the great things about my relationship with my boyfriend is that we both have the same idea of what we expect our apartment to look like. Don't talk to us about the right way to load a washing machine, but ask us about maintaining a tidy house and we're onto something! It definitely makes cohabitation easier.
To us, the ideal living situation is a sparkling home — one that not only feels clean but also looks good in photos. (Whether we clean because we like taking photos or take photos because our place is clean is something we'll never know.) Of course, we keep things in order by regularly taking on bigger tasks like vacuuming and sweeping, wiping down surfaces, and scrubbing sinks and toilets, but I actually think the reason we're able to keep our place tidy at any given point is because of the smaller things we do that add up to make a big impact. We're both extremely detail-oriented people (that's the Taurus in us both!), so for us, it's worth it to put in the effort for minor details, and it pays off in an (almost) always-pristine home.
