The Internet Relates to This Sassy, Dancing Lizard on a Deep, Spiritual Level

This is turning out to be the year of the lizard. The world watched, riveted, as an iguana (barely) escaped from his snake pursuers on Planet Earth II. Twitter caused an uproar after a Kermit the Frog meme was incorrectly dubbed "Tea Lizard." And now there's a new lizard in town, ready to shake things up on the internet . . . with a dance.

The aforementioned groovy reptile is a shovel-snouted lizard featured on the desert episode of Planet Earth II. While most of the desert animals stay underground during daytime to escape from the torturous (up to 160 degree) heat of the sandy surface, a little warm weather doesn't stop the feisty lizard from getting down with his bad self.

Naturally, social media quickly connected with the lizard, relating deeply to his side-eyed dancing determination and carefree moves. So meet the internet's new shovel-snouted spirit animal — and maybe take a dance move or two out of his book.
