David Beckham Just Broke a Huge Instagram Record

The fastest-growing Instagram account ever, according to Instagram? David Beckham's. The former soccer player shared his first 'gram on May 2 and has since gained more than 5.5 million followers. Most of his photos so far have captured his 40th birthday celebrations and have each received hundreds of thousands of "likes."

Instagram explained the record-breaking stats in an email: "He reached one million in one day, faster than anyone else (Emma Watson was the previous fastest, reaching two million in just two days) and was the fastest account to reach five million followers, which he reached in around three days."
