It's the spookiest time of year and I have been on the prowl for some of this year's creepiest and geekiest tech that can really up your Halloween game in a pinch. If you've waited until the last minute, do not fret! These Halloween tricks are sure to be a treat for you and your friends on Oct. 31! I wanted to give a special thanks to Grandin Road for inviting me to partner with them and represent their magical lineup of Halloween décor this year, with some of my favorites in this review. 1 Zombie Faces Makeup App
Create a tricked-out, scary social pic! The Zombie Faces Makeup app (free) does a pretty incredible job of making it look like you really did some special effects. Scale and fit your mask “sticker” to perfectly fit your face in the photo and fine-tune it to perfection as much as you want with filters, textures, and more.
2 Star Wars Porch Light Covers
The force will be with your entire home with these officially licensed Star Wars porch light covers ($5, originally $10). Choose between Storm Trooper and Darth Vader and cut to custom fit your porch cover.
3 App Lights
Great investment for year round celebrations! Control App Lights ($66) from your smartphone. Turn them on and off remotely and even change the theme and effects. There are more than 140 effects in total.
4 Seasonal FX Projector
Display an animated scene on any wall or window! Choose from more than 12 videos and make a scene to spook the neighborhood using the FX Projector ($69). Use the projector to show a scene on a wall or window in both vertical or landscape mode. You can buy more effects at Total Home FX (price varies).
5 Animated Haunted Reveal Clock
Staring at the clock has never been more life threatening! This animated haunted clock ($49) takes a skewed view of time with the numbers of the clock in reverse order ending with the number 13. When activated, hands spin in reverse and reveal a skeleton and haunting sound effects.
6 Mehron Metallic Powder with Mixing Liquid

7 Animated Haunted Typewriter
So much more than a decoration, this high-end animated vintage typewriter ($109, originally $149) has spooky tech written all over it (literally) and creates a spectacle in any room of your home or office. As the unsuspecting approaches, a motion sensor is activated and the keys of this typewriter appear to be pressed by a ghost, moving to spell out “HELP!” with sound effects as the paper carriage frantically moves side-to-side. The device arrives fully assembled and powered by two AA batteries (not included).

Take animation to the next level this Halloween with animated digital t-shirts and costumes (starting at $25). This is great for those who don’t feel like dressing up in costume but need to look the part at a Halloween party — or if you can’t find a costume last minute!
