President Obama Breaks Guinness World Record

President Obama Just Broke a Major World Record

If you break a world record less than a day after joining Twitter, then you know you've got major social media chops. That's what happened when President Barack Obama created his @POTUS account on Monday and earned the "fastest time to reach 1,000,000 followers on Twitter" title — all within a mere five hours. Considering that the previous record holder was Robert Downey Jr. for gaining a million after 24 hours, that's seriously impressive.

The president's new account is different from his existing @WhiteHouse and @BarackObama accounts in that it solely consists of his own personal tweets — the others are run by staffers from the White House Administration and his nonprofit Organization For Action, respectively. And it's a good thing, too . . . because the commander in chief has been receiving some seriously naughty (and hilarious) tweets since launching his account.

Granted, the staffers will be able to laugh about the inappropriate tweets anytime since they're being catalogued by the White House. Obama hasn't responded to any of the more questionable Twitter mentions, but he has made some punny exchanges during his first day online. Read on to see the types of ridiculous tweets the POTUS has received, and be sure to follow his account for more comedy gold.

Here's President Obama's first tweet . . .

And here are the trolls:
