1 The Beyhive vs. Kid Rock

In an interview with Rolling Stone in February, Kid Rock questioned the perpetual attention and praise Beyoncé receives. He said, "Beyoncé, to me, doesn't have a f*cking 'Purple Rain,' but she's the biggest thing on Earth. How can you be that big without at least one 'Sweet Home Alabama' or 'Old Time Rock & Roll'?" Beyoncé's fans — who refer to themselves as the Beyhive — subsequently unleashed a swarm upon Kid's Instagram by filling his comments with the bee and crown emoji. Kid Rock is still getting bee emoji in his comments to this day.

2 Nicki Minaj's Barbies vs. Miley Cyrus

Just days before hosting the MTV Video Music Awards in August, Miley Cyrus dissed nominee Nicki Minaj in an interview with The New York Times. Referring to Nicki's comments that it's much harder for black female recording artists to receive the accolades they deserve, Miley said there's a way of addressing those issues while also being "polite."

While receiving her VMA for best hip-hop video, Nicki retaliated by saying the three iconic words that would launch a thousand memes. Since then, Miley's Instagram photos have had at least one "Miley, what's good?" comment from Nicki's fans — or "Barbies," as they're called.

3 Drake Fans vs. Meek Mill

In July, Meek Mill dissed Drake for allegedly using a ghostwriter for his raps. Big mistake. Drake responded with two hugely popular songs: "Charged Up" and "Back to Back," which recently received a Grammy nomination. Though Drake is clearly the victor in this one, his fans still have not let Meek off the hook. If you ever see a battery or diamond emoji in Meek's comments, you can assume it's a Drake fan — the battery is a reference to "Charged Up," and the diamond a reference to the What a Time to Be Alive cover art.

4 Beliebers vs. Lena Dunham

The Beliebers have been fervent advocates of Justin Bieber since the days when he used to rock his bowl cut, and with time, they have only become more devoted.

In August, Lena Dunham tweeted her disapproval in a line from Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" wherein he sings, "When you nod your head yes, but you wanna say no." In her tweet, Dunham was hinting at how the lyric could refer to sexual consent. The Beliebers weren't having any of Dunham's thoughtful criticism, however, and responded in a manner that was, well, lacking some literary finesse.

5 The Lovatics vs. Sleigh Bells

In early November, rising pop group Sleigh Bells — consisting of Alexis Krauss and Derek Edward Miller — expressed their belief that Demi Lovato wrongfully sampled portions from two of their songs for her song "Stars." While the point of contention is still being debated today, Demi's Lovatics quickly silenced Sleigh Bells' grievance with a barrage of replies drenched in angst — proof of the lengths teens will go to for their fave.

6 Lady Gaga's Little Monsters vs. Shonda Rhimes

Lady Gaga's fans, aka her Little Monsters, are known to be hardcore. Even though most people thought that Gaga absolutely nailed the Julie Andrews tribute at the 87th Academy Awards, Shonda Rhimes did not. The primetime queen shared her disappointment in Gaga's performance on Twitter, and the Little Monsters had a lot to say in response. Many of the other replies were NSFW, but my personal favorite was the fan who offered Shonda a free hearing test — what a bargain!
