Social Media as Hot Guys
If Social Networks Were Actually Really Hot Guys
Entertain us for a moment. Close your eyes and imagine if Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter jumped out of your phone and into the real world as a hot male model. What would he look like? Well photographer Viktorija Pashuta has a theory. She, along with Jordan Swain, orchestrated a social media-inspired fashion shoot for Vanichi magazine, and we have the results. You're probably wondering: why turn social media sites into hot guys? Viktorija explains, in her own words:
"With the age of social media and its influence on everyday life, we feel its direct presence and the necessity to use these channels as our main source of communication and sharing of content. While socializing with friends, relatives, and colleagues online, the actual online platforms sort of become 'alive.' And then I thought: 'What would happen if I tried to humanize well-known social networks?'"
Each shoot takes into consideration the logo's color scheme and each social media network's "soul." Viktoria (also the woman behind What If Girls Were Internet Browsers) identified the platforms with a single, descriptive adjective. Facebook, for example, is "casual," while Tumblr is "hip."
