9 Things We Don't Miss About the Myspace Era

Your Top 8 was a true test of all your friendships, which meant drama. Significant others were always number one, and any rearrangement would definitely spark conversation.

Some kept it brief, some wrote their whole life story, but most of them were pretty cringe-worthy. We dare you to go back and see what yours says.

Remember bulletins? Yeah, they were pretty awful. Aside from the flood of "Happy New Year" and other holiday posts, the worst were definitely bulletin surveys that asked 40-50 meaningless questions.

2. What's your middle name? [don't worry about it]

"SEND THIS TO 10 FRIENDS BY MIDNIGHT OR SOMETHING TERRIBLE WILL HAPPEN TO YOU." Admit, you probably forwarded these kind of bulletins just. in. case. But then you realized how stupid it all was by friend number five.

Your Myspace layout was a reflection of who you were, so we all spent hours perfecting and updating our page. It was hard to be friends with anyone with a glitter cursor, but hey, at least we all became pros at HTML.

We take the ease of sharing photos for granted and forget what a process it used to be back then. Snap some top-down angled shots on your digital camera, transfer them onto your computer, upload them onto Photobucket, and then share on your page. No, thanks.

Luckily, this trend has disappeared (for the most part). Adding symbols and numbers to your profile name used to be the cool thing but was never actually cool.

In addition to the many other categories that let you tell the world who you were, there was a whole section for music. We don't know about you, but people's music selections were definitely make-or-break factors.

Most of us probably still have active Myspace accounts, but not by choice. Tom made us jump through so many hoops to leave that we just completely gave up. Pretty sure some account cancellation requests are still pending.
