Black is the color associated with death and mourning. It makes us think of tragedy. It is bleak. And it is the opposite of a hopeful rainbow. Today, Hillary Clinton supporters have started a movement of featuring black screens on Instagram. The empty, dark picture explains their feelings, minimal words needed.

Celebrities such as Sophia Bush, Emily Ratajkowski, and Jessica Alba have participated. We've also seen influencers, like Grate Atwood, Emily Weiss, and Natalie Joos, as well as fashion designer Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy artistic director) and model Karen Elson participate. And our regular friends, family members, and fellow journalists are also getting into the conversation.

Fashion editor Preetma Singh summed it up when she captioned, "No other way to feel if you feel."
