I Don't Travel Without This Packing Hack — It's Saved Me Time, Money, and My Sanity
Here's the situation: I'm a shopping editor, so it should come as no surprise that I like to shop. I really love to shop when I travel because it's my opportunity to find something unique that I wouldn't normally be able to buy. I also have no idea how this happens, but every time I travel, it is always more difficult to pack my suitcase going home than it was when I left, even if I didn't actually purchase anything. So, on the advice of my genius mother, I started packing a foldable tote bag in my suitcase. It has changed the way I travel, and here's why.
First of all, I don't want to miss out on a fun purchase just because I'm worried I can't pack it in my suitcase. If I buy something that takes up more room, I can just store it in my other bag. Plus, sometimes I need more space in my "personal item" on the plane, and it's nice to have the option of a larger bag that you can fit your everyday purse inside. It's so critical that the bag is foldable because it shouldn't take up any valuable suitcase real estate on your way there, and should merely be used as a solution to a problem. There are many trips where my extra bag never leaves my luggage, but it gives me serious peace of mind knowing it exists, and I can shop to my heart's content. If you're traveling this Summer, do yourself a favor and invest in a foldable bag.
