It was a big week in filming with love interests and villains appearing on movie and TV sets this week. Katie Holmes and Luke Kirby sparked chemistry for Mania Days in NYC, while Lena Dunham celebrated her 27th birthday with an ice cream cone during shoots for Girls. Across town, Andrew Garfield hung on tight during a faceoff with The Amazing Spider-Man 2's newest villain, The Rhino, played by Paul Giamatti. Katie Holmes filmed scenes for Spike Lee's latest producing project, Mania Days, in NYC yesterday. She started working on the movie late last month but was joined by costar Luke Kirby on Tuesday. The duo shot scenes in front of a church, held hands while walking on the sidewalk, and got caught up in fits of laughter. In the film, Katie and Luke play two manic depressives who find each other in a psychiatric hospital and develop a romance centered on their conditions.
Katie was in a different kind of spotlight last week when she made a stunning Met Gala red carpet appearance. The actress will remain in front of the cameras for a while, though, since she's also tied to another romantic comedy, Responsible Adults, alongside Chace Crawford.
The annual Costume Institute Benefit is all about fashion and fun, but before the stars can celebrate inside the bash, they have to make their way into the Metropolitan Museum of Art by way of the grand staircase. The dramatic carpeted steps make for gorgeous photos — and sometimes dress difficulties — as celebrities navigate the steps in their stylish gowns and getups. We've rounded up the most stunning staircase shots from this year's gala, starting with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's moment on their way into the Met.
The 2013 Met Gala brought plenty of glamorous ladies to NYC last night. Beyoncé Knowles stole the show in a sexy Givenchy Haute Couture number complete with matching boots, while Kristen Stewart donned a lace Stella McCartney ensemble. Cameron Diaz stayed true to the punk theme in a spiked Stella McCartney gown, and Jennifer Lawrence went classic in a black Dior dress.
There were tons of fabulous looks from last night, so click through to see them all, and make sure to vote on your fashion and beauty favorites from the 2013 Met Gala!
The 2013 Met Gala best-dressed set could easily be likened to the fashion Olympics, and this year's Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition turnout made it harder than ever to pick only five gold-medal contenders. Beyoncé Knowles spared no head-turning detail in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture flame-embroidered gown; Gwyneth Paltrow stood out in a covered-up hot pink Valentino number; Rooney Mara played the edgy card in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown, complete with floral embroidery, zippers, ruffles, and a split-front opening; Jennifer Lawrence chose ladylike Dior (and that Jennifer Behr netted veil!); and Katie Holmes stunned in a downright ethereal custom Calvin Klein creation. It's a close one, but it's time for you to declare a best-dressed winner of the night.

Katie Holmes stepped out for the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a custom Calvin Klein creation. The brunette beauty kept her hair slicked back, her eye makeup dark and smoky, and as for the dress? Holmes said she couldn't say "no" to this Francisco Costa-designed gown because it was just "so beautiful." From the dramatic sweeping train to the illusion-like bodice to the circular halter-style detail, it's certainly worth a second (and third) glance. What's your verdict?

Katie Holmes was stunning in a backless white Calvin Klein Collection gown at the Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC tonight. She was one of the first to arrive and stopped on the grand staircase on her way into the museum to pose with designer and Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa. Katie's no stranger to the annual fashion event, having attended in years past with husband Tom Cruise. There are so many more stars to see on the carpet this evening, so make sure to check out all the fashion and beauty favorites!
While working her way through the airport in LA, Julianne Hough was the latest star to show off her cool style in an army-green jacket. Not only does this outerwear trend never go out of style, but also, anoraks lend an easy utilitarian touch to just about anything they top — and they're the perfect transitional jacket, which means you can wear them just about anytime of year. Not convinced? Just take a gander some of our favorite style-setters sporting army jackets with their everyday looks. Some, like Naomi Watts, go tribal-inspired; others, like Michelle Williams and Cameron Diaz, make theirs supercozy; and a few even feature edgy leather sleeves, à la Jessica Alba. But they're not the only stars who have worked the utilitarian angle. Step inside for the celebrity inspiration — and don't leave without shopping similar army-green jackets on ShopStyle.
