Ingredients

  1. 3-4 lbs pack of young chicken leg quarters
    2-inch ginger, pounded with a mallet ( get you aggression out!)
    5 cloves garlic, pounded
    2 stalks scallions, chopped
    2 star anise
    1 cinnamon stick
    1 cup reduced soy sauce
    1/2 cup dark soy sauce
    1 tablespoon Chinese Shaoxing wine
    3 dashes white pepper powder
    4 oz. splenda
    4 cups water
