Taylor Swift Releases 8 Seconds of White Noise, Instantly Tops the Charts

Taylor Swift can make anything a hit, even if it's just white noise. The singer topped the Canadian iTunes charts this week when a glitch accidentally released eight seconds of static as "Track 3" on her new album, 1989. Fans mistakenly thought that the new snippet was a preview of an upcoming song off the album, which hits stores on Oct. 27, but instead they were only met with white noise. The glitch only popped up on the Canadian version of the digital album, but it was quickly captured and shared with Taylor fans around the world. Taylor has already released two songs off her upcoming album — "Shake It Off" and "Welcome to New York" — but fans won't be getting the full version of the album until later this month.
