It's never been easier to make your lips look like Kylie Jenner's, thanks to a new tutorial she posted on her official website and app. The Kylie Lip Kit creator is opening up about how she used her own products to nail a perfect red lip this past Valetine's Day. And it turns out that Kylie's not clueless when it comes to knowing that her products can be incredibly hard to find. Kylie actually offered up a couple suggestions for alternative products, because she's considerate like that. Read on for the four Kylie-approved steps to nailing a chic red lip.
1 Prep the Base
To begin, Kylie applied a primer to her lips for moisture. "This will not only prevent your lips from looking dry," she wrote. "But will also help the color last longer." Kylie prefers Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Primer ($16).
2 Put on the Lip Liner
Next, Kylie lined her lips with the Mary Jo Kylie Lip Kit pencil. She advises coloring in the lips with the pencil to get a longer-lasting color. Kylie knows that her colors are in high demand, so she thinks NARS Lip Liner ($22) is a good backup.
3 Break Out the Lipstick
Next up: applying the lipstick. Kylie reached for her Mary Jo tube, but if that's sold out, she advises trying Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick ($32) in 1975 Red.
4 Play Up Your Eyes to Match
According to Kylie, nothing goes better with a red lip than dark cat-eye makeup. "It's a great look for a celebratory occasion or any time you want a dramatic vibe," Kylie wrote.
