If Disney Princesses Shopped the Fall 2015 Runways

If Ariel could shop any dress, it'd sparkle like the ocean and come in her favorite colorway: sea green. And of course, it would flatter her tiny waist. This spaghetti strap Delpozo gown is the perfect shade. It's fun and playful and even has purple embellishments that are reminiscent of Ariel's shell bra.

If this Carolina Herrera gown doesn't scream Cinderella, we don't know what does. From its gorgeous waterfall folds to its formfitting bodice, the dress speaks for itself. And since it's got such intricate detail, we'd venture to say that Cinderella wouldn't mind keeping her accessorizing minimal. Yeah, we're pretty sure Lupita would approve of this pairing.

Jasmine's sported a crop top and complementing jewels for quite some time now. So why not shrug off the pants for this elegant Christian Siriano design? She'd still bare her midriff thanks to the cutout detail, and instead of chunky baubles, Jasmine would get her fill of gold from the floral pattern on her dress. Not to be overlooked: the matching shoes.

Mulan would go crazy for Rosie Assoulin's kelly green separates. While the tailored trousers lend an edgy touch to the ensemble, the dainty white buttons and A-line silhouette keep things feminine. This look totally says "girl boss," and Mulan would be all over it.

We think of Princess Aurora as totally girlie, so a pastel pink gown with gorgeous embroidery is right up her alley. Her original dress is symmetrical, just like this Reem Acra number. But instead of a stiff white collar and geometric details, Sleeping Beauty's dress would be updated with delicate cap sleeves and a lace-up bodice.

Not that we don't love Belle's regal ball gown, but it's time for her to take a bit of a risk. This one-shoulder Monique Lhuillier dress sweeps and curves with elegance and highlights the shoulders like Belle's original design, but the thigh-slit makes for a look that's even more striking.

The modern version of Queen Elsa's frosty dress is a bit more sleek, but just as sparkly and, in our eyes, equally as magical. This halter-style Badgley Mischka number is complete with gorgeous draping detail along the neckline. And while it may not come equipped with a train, we've got a feeling Elsa will let that go. Sorry, we had to.

Obviously, teal is Merida's color. It highlights her gorgeous red locks and bright eyes. Tadashi Shoji has an updated answer to her off-the-shoulder gown. Rather than bordering on too glitzy, this design gets its sparkle from the intricate circular embroidery, which, by the way, totally reminds us of Merida's belt.

While fringe is in for Spring and Fall 2015, Pocahontas has long retired the trend. Instead, this neutral Hervé Léger body-con dress would flatter her figure. And while the long sleeves and neckline call for minimal accessorizing, metallic embellishments take the place of Pocahontas's choker.

Rapunzel's dress must have sheer sleeves and it must be purple. The answer comes in the form of this mixed media Honor gown. Layers of chiffon are met with a shiny bodice that gives off the illusion of sparkle, something Rapunzel's original dress has quite a lot of.

Tiana's getting a very modern upgrade with this three-quarter sleeve Naeem Khan gown. Instead of a full skirt with leaf-like layers, Tiana's new dress is complete with pleating, and the gilded, '20s-inspired top has enough shimmer to compete with Tiana's necklace and crown.

Snow White's getting a high-fashion update in the form of this satin Katie Ermilio column gown. She'll keep the bow but ditch the red and blue accents. And she'll feel just as ladylike and elegant in this silk material.
