This Model With Down Syndrome Just Stole the Show at NYFW

Madeline Stuart, an 18-year-old model with Down syndrome, finally lived her dream when she walked the runway at New York Fashion Week. The young model has come a long way, after breaking boundaries in the industry by fronting campaigns and showing just how fierce she can be in front of the camera.

But when Maddy made her debut on the catwalk at the FTL Moda presentation, which took place in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station, she did a lot more than strike a pose. Maddy wore not one but three different looks on the diverse runway, including a gorgeous gold one-shoulder gown that swept the floor.

The FTL Moda show, which casts individuals living with disabilities in an effort to "free fashion from confines," is inspiring, to say the least. Read on to see Maddy's triumphant moment in full, along with the stylish outfits she wore.

Maddy's first look was a gold textured one-shoulder gown that featured a ruffled train and an ornate bodice. She played up the glow of her dress with shimmering face paint.

Maddy's electric look was a bit more casual, consisting of a red printed halterneck and shimmering tailored shorts.

Finally, Maddy took the runway in a black t-shirt that she wore as a dress — the back reading, "I AM NYFW." Maddy completed her powerful tee with gold metallic platform sandals.
