This Artist's Quirky DIY Wedding Is So Sweet It'll Make Your Teeth Hurt
When two creative individuals decide to get hitched, you'd best believe that the celebration will be one for the books! Katelyn and Evan, a fun-loving pair from Austin, TX, wowed guests with thoughtfulness and personal touches at their wedding. The couple handmade many of the standout features at their nuptials, from a gorgeous backdrop to stunning marquee letters, and even blogged about the process to inspire other crafty individuals. The bride is a professional artist, so she designed many aspects of the wedding — Katelyn drew herself and Evan for the wedding programs, then added a special sketch of the couple's cat. However, it's not just the DIY elements of this wedding that make it special: at the very heart of it all, the celebration stands out because of the newlyweds' love. While the make-your-own-s'mores station, yummy food-truck grub, fun photo booth (complete with cardboard cutouts of the couple!), and beautiful aesthetic at the wedding certainly made the event fun for everybody involved, what's unmistakeable throughout Katelyn and Evan's photos is that they're a perfect match. There's nothing sweeter than seeing a couple glow with love for one another, and this pair's joy is contagious! Bride Katelyn tells us a little more about the day:
"One was when Evan and I exchanged our vows, which we had kept secrets from each other until that moment, and they ended up being so similar you would have thought we wrote them together! We were big messes of happy tears the whole time and I will never forget standing up there with my love and best friend, totally oblivious to the fact that everybody else was crying too! "Another favorite moment was the very last song of the night, when EVERYBODY formed a giant circle around us and sang Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin'' at the top of their lungs with Evan and I singing along and air-guitaring in the center of all the love."
Advice For Brides
"Plan like crazy so you can relax and have fun on the big day. Pick something to DIY with your husband, because the memory of making it together is something you'll hold onto forever. And try your best to be present and soak up all the warm gooey unconditional love that's going to be surrounding you on your wedding day."The event's photographer, Caryn Canatella from The Bird and the Bear, also put together a sweet video of the nuptials, and we bet that you will have a smile on your face while watching.
