In just over four weeks, the streets will be overrun with ghosts, goblins, and a menagerie of characters as kids get creative and start trick-or-treating. So just what will the costume of the year be? Last year you couldn't get your hands on an Elsa or Anna costume, but there are a few other contenders in the popular costume race this year. Party City gave us a rundown on what to expect this Halloween, and we've got to say, there are some pretty colorful options this year. My Little Pony
One of the most popular licensed characters of the year is none other than My Little Pony! Whether your Pony fan dresses up like the animal itself or goes for a Rainbow Dash Tutu Dress ($20), there are plenty of ways to carry out this trend!

If you have a tween at home, you know that it's all about Disney's Descendants right now. The offspring of Disney's greatest villains — Maleficent, Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, and Jafar — make for some pretty spectacular costumes. Top on our list is Mal ($30), the daughter of Maleficent.

You probably saw more than a few Elsa and Anna costumes last year, but you'll be seeing different versions this year. The release of the Frozen Fever short brought several new costumes with it — including this Elsa Costume Supreme ($40) that is complete with a glitter-print sheer overlay and a flowered headband.

Star Wars — The Force Awakens
There are plenty of Star Wars options available this year — Storm Troopers, Chewbacca, and Padma to name a few. But 2015 will be all about the eagerly anticipated Star Wars — The Force Awakens costumes.
