Reading the comments I found myself thinking - working moms often attack stay at home moms and SAHMS point out that at least working mums have time for lunch and can pee alone, get to spend days not covered in oatmeal... There is no answer to which is a better 'lifestyle', both are very strenuous and very rewarding at the same time. My husband and I were laughing the other day comparing this to yearning for summertime/spring when it's winter and yearning for wintertime when it's a sweaty super hot summer.... There is no balance, you either miss out on being with your kids apart from a couple of hours a day or you have no life except for serving/disciplining/teaching/changing/feeding your kids.I'm a SAHM at the moment and would absolutely love to have a real lunch break, oh please, forget lunch, at least finishing one cup of coffee!... But the moment I go back to work, I know I will be missing staying at home and appreciate the extra time I could've spend with the kids(and the ridiculous amount of money I could've saved on daycare..).

Great reminders, especially exercise and hydration. Can I add one? I found having general cooking routine Monday to Friday helps heaps. I always cook beef soup Mondays, steam chicken Tuesdays, spaghetti bolognese Thursdays, etc.

All mums and dads need to be applauded for doing what is best for THEIR family. Well done for you for making the hard and necessary choice.
