5 Tips For Camping With Children
Pitch a tent, it's time to take the kids camping! Lots of families enjoy an annual adventure living in the great outdoors! But to make the trip a enjoyable for young children, we got some great tips from Kampgrounds of America. Do you have any to share?
Keep an Eye on Your Kids
Campgrounds may seem safe, but don't get overly comfortable. Be sure you know where your kids are headed and have a prearranged gathering spot and plan should someone get lost.
Swim Safety
Most campground pools don't have lifeguards, so accompany your children when they swim at the pool, lake, or river. Set some ground rules for safety before your family pitches its tent.
Separate Clothes
Pack each child’s daily outfit in a large ziplock bag. This will keep them organized and the dry and soiled apparel separate. Upon returning home, the kiddo can just toss the worn items in the hamper.
Layer Clothing
Dress the kids in layers so they can peel off clothing as the weather warms and bulk back up when it gets chilly. Even in the Summer months, it's wise to pack some Winter attire for nighttime.
Activities
Bring various items to occupy your children's time — board games, bicycle, books, and toys. Plan activities like scavenger hunts to keep the kids interested in their surroundings.
