As a graphic designer, I'm glad that we as women are getting the message to stop sweating the small stuff. The most important thing is that you are your love are happy on that day and enjoy yourself enough to kick off your shoes and dance the day away.

My tip as a designer of wedding stationery-- you don't necessarily have to do it all yourself. You can save yourself some time and much less aggravation by having a designer tweak your design a bit if its not looking like you want. You pay much less to just have a tweak done than printing a bunch of mistakes.

I couldn't agree more with the bridesmaid dresses! I've already decided that when I get married I'm letting my bridesmaids choose their own dresses so they can find something that they're both physically and financially comfortable with!

My friend used his fiancee's mother's diamond in a new, custom setting. It's so beautiful! (And he's a former art student, paying back a ton of student loans while going from min wage job to min wage job.) Proof that it can be done on a budget! (And using mom's stone is so romantic!)
