I am the first person to admit I am in a love/hate relationship with my iPhone. I am constantly using it, killing time that I don't have and obsessing over social media posts that I won't remember by next week. I have contemplated more than once how liberating throwing my phone into the ocean would be but I always come to the same conclusion: it's merely an expensive nuisance since I am a slave to that device and would inevitably have to buy another.

Even though the dreams of throwing my phone into the ocean aren't totally plausible, the few times I've left my phone at home are pure bliss. Of course, the moments when I am frantically checking my phone for that text I've been waiting all day for are decidedly less pleasant. I'm not sure why I torture myself with the constant need to be "plugged in" but I do know the signs when I need to put my phone down. For your sanity, here are 10 indications that you need to back away from that device ASAP.
