Demi Lovato will take Selena Gomez's place as the headliner for this year's Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Sept. 24, People exclusively confirmed on Sept. 7. The news comes just a week after Selena announced her decision to cancel the remaining dates of her Revival tour and take some time off to focus on her health.

"The Global Citizen Festival combines music and activism in a way that inspires and affects millions around the world. I am proud to support this amazing organization's ongoing efforts to improve global healthcare and to end extreme poverty," Demi, who has been teasing new music on social media, said in a statement. If the "Body Say" singer's recent Adele cover is any indication, we're sure she's going to rock this exciting gig among some of the top talent in the industry.

Those interested in attending the Central Park-based concert can find out more details about how to win tickets at GlobalCitizen.org.
