10 Performances From The Passion You Need to See

Fox

The Passion of the Christ has never been as relatable as it is now thanks to Tyler Perry's The Passion, a live event that aired on Fox on March 20.

Told in the present day and set in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, the highly anticipated event took the timely biblical tale and sprinkled it with a hefty dose of 2016. The result? Jesus, played by hunky Telenovela star Jencarlos Canela, and his disciple Peter, played by Prince Royce, were (dare we say?) hot as modern-day people, and the typical gospel songs were replaced by surprisingly relevant hit songs of our generation, including Train's "Calling All Angels" and Creed's "With Arms Wide Open."

These modern twists make The Passion worth the watch — even if you don't observe Easter. Read on to see our favorite performances, and then check out a completely different side of Peter (read: Prince Royce).
