She is originally from McAllen, TX, though she was born in Houston and raised in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Cavazos became a full-time reporter in 2019. Her translation work has appeared in publications such as The Texas Tribune and The Guardian. When she is not writing, she is shopping or traveling.
