Can Lime Be Used as Deodorant?
This Beauty Blogger Claims Limes Can Be Used as a Natural Deodorant
If you find yourself in a deodorant pickle (re: you slept over after a date and can't find anything to mask the stench from your pits), go snooping around the kitchen. According to blogger Farah D, if you find a lime, it may be your savior. The beauty enthusiast shared an Instagram video in which she uses a lime as a natural deodorant.
She says in her caption: "[It is] so hard to find a deodorant that keeps me dry and odor free all day without reapplying. This DIY deodorant not only kept me extremely dry in this hot and humid Miami weather, it kept me smelling fresh all day!"
Her recipe includes cutting a lime into small pieces and storing it in the fridge. She also advises that you can juice the fruit and then apply it with a cotton round. Farah warns to apply the lime juice "directly to your underarm after showering. Do not do this right after shaving [because] it will [sting]." Let it dry and carry on with your day. She also notes to avoid sun exposure or tanning when you do this regimen. (We think you should avoid both of those activities, regardless!)
Whether you choose to try this or not, we encourage you to listen to Farah's advice and do not apply lime juice after shaving or waxing — it will definitely sting!
