How to Do Glitter Ombre Nail Art
Impress Your Friends With This 3-Step Glitter Manicure
Just because the holiday season is over doesn't mean you've got to get rid of your sparkles, and there's no better way to incorporate it than on your nails. With Essie's Where's My Chauffeur ($9) and Beyond Cozy ($9), you can create a sophisticated nail art look with minimal effort. The Tiffany-esque blue provides an unexpected pop of color for the Winter season, and the gold microglitter is the perfect way to add a dazzling embellishment. The only extra tool you need is a disposable makeup sponge to get this gorgeous look.
Step One: After applying a base coat — I used Butter London Nail Foundation ($18) — apply two coats of the bright turquoise shade.
Step Two: Rip off a small piece of a makeup sponge; the ripped edge gives you the best texture to create the ombré effect. Pour a little glitter polish from the bottle onto a piece of paper, and dab the sponge into a drop of the polish. Next, apply the polish-dipped sponge to the base of the nail, moving up to the middle of the nail. Be sure to apply a higher concentration of glitter polish at the base to create that ombré effect.
Step Three: Finish by sealing your design with a top coat, like Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat ($18).
