Kaia Gerber's Gravity-Defying Paris Fashion Week Wig Took 150 Hours to Make
There's big hair, and then there's the sky-high beehive Kaia Gerber and other models wore while walking the Valentino Haute Couture show in Paris on July 4. At first glance, we wouldn't blame you for mistaking this '60s-inspired bouffant as the work of some crafty Photoshop.
But according to lead colorist Josh Wood, the wig is super real. The pro wrote that the preparation entailed "50 wigs, 3700 miles, 250 colour processes, 150 hours of prep, [and] 11 team members." We need to take a breath after just reading that sentence, so it's pretty mind-boggling to think about the logistics behind creating this look. (Not to mention how heavy it must have felt to wear one of this bespoke creations — Kaia, we hope you book a neck massage soon!)
Keep reading to see this gravity-defying wig — and then go back-comb the heck out of your roots to try and re-create it.
