We now have a new source of MAC Cosmetics sneak peeks! Makeup artist Michael Patterson, who is working with the brand for New York Fashion Week, recently teased a genius "pizza cutter" liquid eyeliner. He's also revealed a new, unreleased mascara: MAC Cosmetics Bold and Bad Lash.
Bold and Bad has two different brushes: a fat, highly bristled one and a tinier one that you might see in a bottom lash mascara. The former would be fabulous for achieving thick, dense lashes (like a strip of falsies!) and the latter could grab and coat every tiny strand as well as "style" your lashes in your preferred direction with ease.
While some are comparing this mascara to MAC Cosmetics's popular Haute and Naughty Lash mascara ($23), that is not a totally apt juxtaposition. If you've ever dismantled your own tube of Haute and Naughty lash, you know there are two wands, but only one brush. If you want a volumized lash, you unscrew the first cap, which just pulls the mascara-coated brush straight from the tube. Should you be after a more defined, feathery lash, you unscrew the second, which causes the brush to get pulled through a second wiper (the volumizing wand itself). This "de-gunks" the bristles of the brush for a more light-handed mascara application. In the case of Bold and Bad, the smaller second brush is likely housed in the wand of the larger one when not in use. It's like mascara inception!
As mascara addicts, we can't wait to get our hands on this product, and as it turns out, we won't have too long to wait. According to a representative for MAC Cosmetics, it will hit shelves in Spring or Summer of 2017! Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
