Barnes frequently starts applying makeup with a highlighting and contouring routine. In the video, Barnes suggested that Westbrook take her concealer down into her nasolabial folds (the technical term for smile lines) to bring forward those indentations. He also made sure Westbrook didn't forget to highlight the center of her chin to give a "lit from within" look.

As Westbrook began to contour, Barnes suggested starting with her jawline. He advised relaxing your face and placing the darker shade beneath your jaw and blending into your neck to sculpt out the face.

Barnes said he isn't a fan of straight, under-the-cheekbone contours because it doesn't look natural. He told Westbrook to slightly bend the line under the bone how it naturally is on the face.

Barnes revealed he squirts his makeup into soy sauce dishes and then he swirls the brush into the product and starts to apply the foundation neck up. The dishes seem to be the perfect size for dipping your brush into and can be easily put in your dishwasher.

Barnes showed Westbrook how to apply the foundation without getting rid of the contour by sweeping along the contoured sections and stippling the brush elsewhere.

Barnes pointed out that Westbrook should make sure to conceal her eyelids and her lower lash line to ensure she has an even base for color.

While Westbrook baked the powder underneath the eye on the left side of her face, Barnes used a small blending brush to dust the powder on the other eye for a more natural look.

Westbrook tried patting the bronzer onto her forehead and face, while Barnes advised she blend it in circular motions instead to create a more natural-looking effect.

With the leftover product on the brush, Westbrook made sure to apply some makeup to the top of her hands to make sure her skin tone matched the color of her face.
