Chicago PD fans, there is something you should know — Sophia Bush is just as kick*ss in real life as the cop she plays on the show, and we're not just talking about the fact that she does all her own stunts. When we asked Sophia her spirit animal, she replied that she's a pit bull! "Recently one of my co-workers was on this primal astrology site that tells you what your spirit animal is," Sophia explained. "Ice T got a leafy sea dragon and Jesse Soffer got a squirrel. Then they plugged in my dates and said 'Dude, you're a pit bull!' I just started laughing because I've rescued them my whole life, and I have three at home."

In addition to rescuing pups, Sophia has taken up a few different causes over the years including the environment. This Earth Month she is collaborating with EcoTools for the Live Beautifully, Give Beautifully campaign. For every makeup brush bought in the Complexion Collection line ($7-$25), $1 will be donated to Global Green USA up to $100,000. Global Green works across the country to give city buildings and schools a sustainable makeover.

Sophia will also be sharing her eco-living advice on social media with the hashtag #EcoInspire all month. "I love getting tips from people," Sophia explained. "I feel like whether it's something I find on Instagram or coming from a friend or makeup artist, there's always something new to hear about and try and that's actually part of what inspired us because campaign. Anyone who's searching for tips on how to green their life can just plug in the hashtag and will have an ever-growing list."

So far, Sophia has captured the hearts of animal-lovers, action junkies, and eco devotees. Beauty girls will also be happy to know that she's a product addict. It's probably a throwback from her days playing a fashion designer on One Tree Hill. "We were always experimenting with different colors whether it was a crazy eye or bright lips or varying hair styles all the time," she said. BKR Glass Water Bottle

BKR Glass Water Bottle

Sophia has a two-fold approach to keeping her waste low. "I always take bags of my own to the grocery store. I keep a couple in my car, by the front door, in my trailer. I find that it really reduces the waste in my house so much, and I bought a bunch of really great glass water bottles that I love. So there’s just a lot less plastic and paper in my recycling bin then there used to be."

On the Chicago PD set, her castmates call her "the bottle hoarder" because Sophia constantly collects plastic bottles from the entire crew. "People laugh at me because when they’re ready to rehearse a shot, I’m outside rummaging through a garbage can, taking everyone’s bottles out of it."

Everybody’s skin likes something a little bit different so I think it’s always good to test those things out and see what you like."

Erno Laszlo Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30

Erno Laszlo Firmarine Moisturizer SPF 30

On the Chicago PD set, Sophia's character Erin barely wears any makeup. Tinted moisturizer, concealer where necessary, lip balm, and occasionally mascara. The fact that she still manages to look good in HD is a merit to her skin care routine. "I recently started using this Erno Laszlo Firmarine Cream, and I’m obsessed with it. It smells so good I actually have to remind myself that it’s not edible when I’m putting it on my face, which is kind of creepy and sort of awesome all at the same time."
