Carrie Hammer Role Models Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week
Corporate-Approved Beauty Advice From Girl Bosses We Admire
1
The role model: June Cohen, executive producer of TED Media
Everyday beauty essential: Although she rocked a blowout on the runway, June typically has a head full of curls. Her favorite products to tame frizz and define her ringlets are Devachan No Poo ($20) and Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream ($31).
Confidence-boosting secret: With June's role at TED, she spends a lot of time working with public speakers. She's got three key ways to kick nerves before a big talk (which can help anyone master that big presentation). First, prepare and rehearse. "I always repeat the first three sentences I’m going to say over and over again, she said. "So when I step out on stage — even if I get nervous — my body goes into autodrive and knows what to do." Next, she takes a few minutes to walk out on the stage to view the audience before the talk. "It's a great way to get comfortable and get a connection to the audience," she explained. They’re just people who actually really want to hear what you have to say. Finally, appearance does matter. "I wear something that makes me smile. I think that it’s important to embrace your own style and wear things that make you feel confident in yourself."
Best advice (ever): "Work hard and be nice and it will draw success and opportunities."
