Backstage at Alice + Olivia's Fall 2016 presentation, hairstylist Marshall Lin for Fekkai created a loose, dry texture for the models with an interesting technique — and something he said is definitely easy to do at home. Instead of setting the curls in rollers, which would produce an "overdone" wave, Lin opted to use tissue (yes, actual tissues) to wrap each curl in to set it, since it would then curl in a looser wave. He simply twisted the tissue horizontally, and then he wrapped a small section of hair around it, securing the tissue into a loose knot and letting it hang. You have to let these curls cool for a good amount of time (even better if you sleep on it, Lin suggested), but the result is the perfect, loose wave.
