Here comes the fun part: I was introduced to what looks like a cross between a space-age curling iron and a medieval torture device straight out of a Game of Thrones episode. Luckily for me, Jean has a very calming energy, which put me at ease. Turns out that the intimidating curling iron is actually completely unique to this process. It's usually only found in Korea, which is the birthplace of the Digital Wave.
Jean explained that she actually heard about the process from an old colleague in Korea, which is where she is from. She learned the technique there and then brought it back to Nunzio Saviano where she and Nunzio (the salon owner) worked to perfect it.
“We practiced on friends and models for over a year, doing three to four treatments a week,” she said.
