"Lots of volume and layers in bold, warm tones keeps the look feeling seasonal but with a twist," said hairstylist Anabel Santos of Sally Hershberger NoMad. "I especially see this look working on longer hair, with face-framing pieces and long layers blown out to their extremes to create effortless movement and bounce."

Unless you've managed to avoid the beauty counter at every major retailer, you've probably already gleaned that hair accessories are a huge trend right now. The particular type of accessory that'll be blowing up your Instagram feeds this fall, however, are bows. "If you're using a bow as an accessory, use textured ribbon," said Ashley Streicher, celebrity hairstylist. "I love velvet because it lends to fall fashion and you can really go for it by using darker colors. I love adding a little texture in the hair, pulling a few pieces back effortlessly, and then tying a knot or putting a bow on it."

For the subtlest — and most retro — take on bangs, try the curtain style. "A lot of people will be adding fringe to long and medium hair lengths," said Streicher. "I love the textured, Bardot-looking bang for staying on trend with the shag. Adding bangs for fall is much easier as the weather starts to cool down, because when it's hot it's hard having hair in your face."

From Dua Lipa to Anya Taylor Joy to Andra Day, it looks like the bouffant hairstyle is here to stay as the next throwback hair trend making a comeback. The reason is simple: "It's drama, and while it can definitely be over the top, it can be very underplayed as well," hairstylist Sam McKnight told POPSUGAR. "Plus, a bit of height always makes people feel a bit taller, and a bit grander, and a bit more done if you like. And I think the best way to do them, the modern way to do them, is to have it kind of really undone and have it not look too perfect."
