Grace Beauty launched wand grip attachments to ensure people with disabilities can apply mascara. And Francesco Clark, founder of skincare brand Clarks Botanicals, informs his product packaging decisions based on how easy it is, as someone with paralysis, to use.

For Brake, the texture of a product is just as important. "Because of her disability, she has a lot of sensory issues, and so she doesn't like the little exfoliating beads, or textures that are too greasy," said Kym. "With Kinship, she didn't have any adverse reactions."
