Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette ($59)
"Don't take away my beauty editor badge, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've worn eyeshadow in the last five-plus years. The truth is I'm lazy, perpetually low on time, and beholden to eyelids so hooded eyes you can't see the makeup magic anyway. If there were ever an eyeshadow palette to bring me back, though, it would be Urban Decay's original Naked. It was the first-ever palette I called in during my early days as a beauty assistant at Allure, and therefore, was the one I experimented with most in my early 20s. (Back when I cared enough to try — good times.) It helped me realize I favor a more natural eye makeup look than something more bold, a fact that's still true to this day.
And while I bid adieu to eyeshadow a few years after Naked was discontinued in 2018, I would be lying if I didn't clamor to get my hands on it upon its triumphant return. As expected, the shades are just as creamy and delectable as ever (in fact, they are even better because now they are vegan) and I still gravitated toward my go-to neutrals: Virgin and Sin, two pinkish beiges across my lids; the sparkly champagne hue Sidecar on the inner corners of my eyes; and Toasted, a shimmery light brown, blended along the creases." — Kelsey Castañon, senior content director
