Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette ($59)
"Urban Decay's original Naked Palette is what I used to learn how to do my eye makeup (along with the help of the OG beauty YouTubers). I remember seeing countless tutorials of mesmerizing smoky eyes and glam-worthy bronzy eye looks. After finally convincing my parents to buy it for me (because I was a high school student with no income), I was obsessed. The Naked Palette is what I reached for during dance recitals, Sweet 16s, and prom — and I continued to use it into my college years and beyond. It's safe to say that the Naked Palette was my emotional support eyeshadow palette through my adolescence. I had to say goodbye to my original Naked Palette when I hit pan on several shades, but getting my hands on the rerelease brought back all those memories.
Although time has passed, some things never change. I instantly gravitated toward Half-Baked and Smog as all-over lid shades, sporting the same look as high school me. I added Buck to my crease and outer corner to add depth and then used Sidecar in the inner corner for that extra sparkle. Because of my "Gossip Girl" obsession, I tried my hand at a smoky eye à la Taylor Momsen using Creep and Gunmetal with Half-Baked in the middle. The Naked Palette fueled my love of makeup back then, and I can already feel it reviving my creativity now." — Anvita Reddy, assistant editor, shopping
