Sarah Hyland's Invisible French Manicure Is the Real Star of "Love Island"

Sarah Hyland is taking a beloved trend and flipping it on its head. On July 19, the actor's hairstylist posted a picture of her on Instagram to celebrate the premiere of "Love Island"'s fifth season, which Hyland will be hosting. Presenting duties aside, the spotlight was on Hyland's nails as she flexed her version of a french manicure.

Hyland's nails were an invisible-french manicure that had all the class of the original but with abstract nail art instead of a straightforward french tip. Courtesy of manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, Hyland's nails were filed into her signature long-stiletto shape to start. Each finger was painted a sheer-beige color, giving the actor's hands a "my nails but better" appearance. For the smile line, Ganzorigt used a traditional white polish to trace the outline of the tips but left them hollow instead of filling the ends in. This gave the look a chic, modern feel. A glossy top coat and a swipe of chrome powder later, the style was complete and ready for prime time.

Invisible french manicures are one of the many new iterations of the mani trend that has dominated since the early '00s. Others that are popular today include designer, chrome, and even glazed-doughnut french tips. Still, there's something about Hyland's version that feels equal parts edgy yet classic — we simply can't get enough. Take a closer look at Hyland's nails below.
