Geoffrey Owens's Cameo at the SAG Awards Will Fill Your Heart With So Much Joy!

Every award show has its fair share of sweet moments, and luckily for anyone watching the SAG Awards on Sunday night, one of those moments came at the top of the show, thanks to a cameo made by actor Geoffrey Owens. Owens, who is best known for his role as Elvin Tibideaux on The Cosby Show, made a surprise appearance during the ceremony's introductory "I am an actor" segment when he opened up about once taking a job at a grocery store to make ends meet. "Somewhere in the middle of the road of my life, I found myself in the dark wood of unemployment and debt," he said. "But instead of switching careers like a sane person, I took a job at Trader Joe's to see if I could hang in there. And, um, it's actually worked out pretty well. I'm Geoffrey Owens, and I'm an actor."

A few months ago, after spending some time out of the spotlight, Owens made headlines when photos of the actor working at a New Jersey Trader Joe's went viral on social media. The photos sparked tons of controversy after many commenters and media outlets appeared to shame him for working a regular job, later prompting other actors to share their stories about how they made money in between finding acting gigs. Needless to say, fans on social media are loving Owens's moment during the ceremony. Read ahead to see the flood of support he's received so far.
