People magazine has made Jennifer Garner the star of its annual Beautiful issue! On April 23, the 47-year-old actress revealed the big news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and couldn't help but feel shocked. "Ah, it's so embarrassing!" she said after seeing the cover for the first time. The 13 Going on 30 star — who joins former recipients Pink, Julia Roberts, and Lupita Nyong'o — went on to share how anxious she was to announce the feature on air. "I guess I just thought you guys would boo," she said. "Like, you guys are expecting Kaia Gerber, and it's me. And I feel like bolting, I feel like I should go, you know what I mean? 'Cause it's so ridiculous."

Although Jennifer can't believe it, there's no question that she's deserving of the title. Whether she's pulling off an amazing April Fools' joke, playing the saxophone, or showing off her stunning red carpet style, she's always managed to let her personality shine through both on and off screen while connecting with fans. She even told People that many of her supporters "tend to feel like I'm the girl they grew up next to or an old friend, and they want to continue a conversation that I didn't know we were having."

In the issue — which hits stands on April 26 — Jennifer also opened up about not paying attention to negativity. "Not only do I not read comments, I work very hard to not see the pictures, to not read articles or to know what's out there at all," she said. "And it's not that I don't care, it's that I care too much. Instagram is a different story because I don't get a lot of people being mean."

Instead, the Love, Simon actress focuses on the beauty of being a mother to her three kids — Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7 — whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck. "I'm starting to get to the point where I realize this job is not going to be forever," she said. "Not in the all-encompassing every meal, every moment, every day way that I have loved for the last thirteen years. It's going to shift. But there's beauty in how it works in episodes."
