Mindy Kaling, Precious Human, Can't Help but Shed a Tear Over B.J. Novak's Sweet Tribute

It's plain and simple: we don't deserve Mindy Kaling. The incredibly sweet actress and mother sat down with Today's Hoda Kotb on Wednesday and ended up making us highly emotional in the process. Aside from gushing about her daughter, she also took a moment to discuss her incredible career. While talking about all of her achievements over the past few years — including wrapping The Mindy Project; starring in A Wrinkle in Time alongside Oprah and Reese Witherspoon; and creating, writing, and producing the NBC series Champions — the 38-year-old couldn't help but get a little choked up, especially when Hoda brought up her friend B.J. Novak's recent tribute to her.

Shortly after the release of A Wrinkle in Time, her former Office costar tweeted a poster of her outside the small apartment she used to live in. "That actually makes me want to tear up," Mindy told Hoda about his post. "That's really moving . . . When I was coming up, there was no one who looked like me on TV or film, and that was such a nice thing that he remembered that." It didn't take long for the tears to start flowing after that. "No, it's true," she continued. "If you dream big, you can get whatever you want." Great, now we're crying too! If you need us, we'll just be plotting how we can become BFFs with Mindy Kaling when she attends POPSUGAR Play/Ground this Summer.
