Taraji P. Henson on Her Emotional Reaction to Getting Engaged: "My Lashes Came Off!"

Taraji P. Henson just might be the most entertaining storyteller in Hollywood. When the Empire star stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she had the entire audience cracking up as she recounted the details of her engagement to Kelvin Hayden.

The 48-year-old actress explained how her hubby-to-be took her to the restaurant where they had their first date and tricked her into thinking they were joining a celebration for his friend's birthday. But when she entered the back room of the eatery, there was a violinist playing "Adorn" by Miguel, which she admits is "one of [her] favorite songs," so she knew something was up. Taraji turned around to see Kelvin down on one knee with her enormous engagement ring in hand and immediately started crying — so much so that her false eyelashes popped off! "They looked like a spider on the floor," she said of her fallen lashes.
