The couple first crossed paths on the set of their Netflix series "Sex/Life" in 2020, and it was practically love at first sight for Shahi. "I said, 'Well, that's a tall drink of water.' When I first met Adam, I was really blown away with him," Shahi told People in June 2021. "We met in the makeup trailer and we just got on instantly. We had the exact same taste in music. We had the same taste in whiskey and tequilas and I was really blown away by him just as a person and all I knew was that I wanted more."

Demos later credited their onscreen chemistry to creator Stacy Rukeyser's "incredible writing." He told Us Weekly in July 2021, "I think we're both pretty well-suited to play the characters and just good casting. That's Stacy, she knew what she was doing."

December 2020: Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos Confirm Their Romance

Shahi and Demos officially went public with their romance on Dec. 31, 2020. They both posted the same black and white photo of themselves cozied up together on their respective Instagram pages. "Rats NYE," Demos captioned his post. Meanwhile, Shahi wrote, "Happy new year 🎈 Xo The 🐀."

Five months later, Shahi shared a loving birthday tribute for Demos on Instagram, in which she called him her "soulmate." She wrote, "Not exactly sure how two people on opposite sides of the world could have more in common, were meant to meet, were meant to be together. But I do know I met my soulmate. I do know I found my forever. I do know I've never loved deeper, harder, more ferociously. I do know I'm overly grateful for him. I do know I've loved him for a thousand lifetimes before and will love him for a thousand lifetimes more. Happy birthday my baby ❤️."

April 2022: Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos Spark Engagement Rumors

Aside from their occasional photos on Instagram, Shahi and Demos prefer to keep their romance out of the spotlight. However, in April 2022, the pair sparked engagement rumors when Shahi was spotted wearing a ring on that finger in photos published by the Daily Mail. Shahi has been wearing the bauble on her left hand ever since, but the couple has yet to comment publicly on the status of their relationship.

March 2023: Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos Take Their Romance Back to the Small Screen

Shahi and Demos reprised their roles as Billie and Brad in "Sex/Life" season two, which hit Netflix in March.

That same month, Demos spoke a bit about their romance in an interview with People. "Her heart. That's first and foremost," he said of why he loves her. "Her kindness . . . It's everything. Can the third thing be everything? I'm her biggest fan for sure, so that would be the third one — everything. I think she's exceptional in all aspects of life." He went on to describe her as "a goddess. It's ridiculous," he continued. "But, she could look the way she did but if she didn't have what's going on in the soul . . . but luckily, it all works together. Yeah, I'm a lucky man for sure."

Shahi also opened up about their relationship to People at the time. "He still is one of my favorite scene partners because everything becomes very easy with him — whether or not it's a scene about loving one another or hating one another — all I have to do is kind of look at him and my work is done," she said. "I'm pretty lucky in that aspect."

August 2023: Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos Travel to Australia

Even though "Sex/Life" was canceled, the duo made it clear that their love was still going strong in August. "No place like @australia ❤️🇦🇺," Demos captioned a carousel of Instagram photos of himself and Shahi enjoying their travels. "Thanks to everyone who made it such an epic few days for @sarahshahi and myself!!"
