Anthony Ramos Once Said He Was "Eternally Grateful" For Ex Jasmine Cephas Jones

Anthony Ramos has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, thanks to his major roles as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in "Hamilton" and Usnavi de la Vega in "In the Heights." Ramos not only rose to fame in 2015 with his breakout roles in Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit Broadway musical, but he also met someone who would change his life along the way. The New York native starred onstage alongside many talented actors, but it was Jasmine Cephas Jones who he'd eventually fall in love with.

Ramos and Cephas Jones — who played Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in "Hamilton" — started dating in February 2015, and announced their engagement in 2019. However, they broke up after six years together in late 2021. During their time together, Ramos was vocal about how Cephas Jones changed his life. "I think that's a blessing," Ramos told People about how it feels to witness success in "Hamilton" together. "I'm truly just eternally grateful for her, man. I get excited when I think about it."

Since their split, Ramos has remained tight-lipped about his love life. To find out more about his dating history, scroll through this gallery.

After meeting at a table read for "Hamilton," Ramos and Cephas Jones fell for each other and began dating in February 2015, per People. In 2018, they'd go on to star together in the drama film "Monsters and Men," which Ramos called a "dream." "Working with Jasmine, being able to work with my other half, that's the dream," Ramos gushed during an interview with Blackfilm.com at the time."We worked together in 'Hamilton' and that's how we met. We've been together for three and a half years now and it's been amazing."

Ramos added of seeing his partner play a pregnant woman: "And then now, fast forward, you're working with your girl on this film and we're in this apartment and I see her come out the room after she changes into her costume for the first time with this pregnant belly and you know, we ain't got a kid, but there was this level of excitement and nervousness and joy that came over me to see her come out. And it was funny, in the fitting room I would like feel on her belly and there's no baby in there obviously but it was just so dope to pretend, pretend to live this life that we're not living but God willing, we hope to live together later on."

The couple announced their engagement in December 2018, per People. Cephas Jones shared the story of the proposal on Instagram, writing, "My beloved Anthony, On Christmas Eve you got down on one knee and proposed to me in front of my favorite castle in Arundel that I used to visit all the time as a child."

"It brought tears to my eyes because I don't get to see my family in England that I'm so close with that much because we are an ocean away, but they got to witness this amazing event in our lives," she added. "And what a moment it was!! All because of you."

During an October 2019 interview with Vogue, Ramos opened up about how wedding planning was going, sharing that music was a main priority. "Jasmine and I both love music, so the DJ's gotta be on point," he said. "I want people sweating, suit jackets off, chancletas on."

However, E! News confirmed in November 2021 that Ramos and Cephas Jones had called off their engagement. Since then, Ramos has kept his love life out of the spotlight.
