Jessica Alba, Khloé Kardashian, and More Stars Share Photos of Their Kids' First Days of School

The last moments of summer have arrived, which means many of us are already plotting our Halloween costumes and shopping around for cute and creepy autumnal decor. For parents, of course, the end of summer also means kids are starting to head back to school.
For many parents, celebrities included, the occasion stirs up a mix of pride and emotion. It also often necessitates a classic back-to-school photo shoot and Instagram post, and already, celebrities from Jessica Alba to Jamie Lynn Spears have excitedly documented the occasion. From sending kids off to their first day of kindergarten, like Khloé Kardashian did with daughter True this year, to dropping kids off at college, like Kevin Hart with his daughter Heaven, the first day of school is often more emotional for parents than kids.
"For anyone wondering, no I'm not ok!" Kardashian wrote in her post. "Next it will be prom." Meanwhile, Hart was just as emotional as Kardashian while dropping his daughter off for college. "So proud of my daughter . . . I cried in the car!!!" he wrote in his post.

Jessica Alba
"10th and 7th -where did the time go . . . (sigh 💔)," Alba wrote in an Aug. 29 Instagram post that featured her two daughters, 15-year-old Honor and 12-year-old Haven — who happen to look just like their mama. "my baby girls first day of school!" she continued, adding the hashtags "#momlifeisthebestlife #summerisofficiallyover #firstdayofschool."
Alba has a total of three kids with her husband, Cash Warren. In addition to Honor and Haven, they also share a son, Hayes, who was born in 2017.
Khloé Kardashian
Kardashian reflected on the passage of time in her Aug. 29 post about her 5-year-old daughter True's first day of kindergarten. "🤍💜Kindergarten 🤍💜," she wrote in the caption. "For anyone wondering, no I'm not ok! Next it will be prom 😫😩." Kardashian shares True with her ex Tristan Thompson, and they welcomed a son named Tatum in 2022.
Jessie James Decker
The country star shared photos of all three of her kids on their first days of school. "Our sweet girl started 4th grade today 🥰 So excited for the new school year💖 my baby is growing up so fast . . . So proud of her 💖," she wrote beneath an Aug. 16 photo of her daughter, 9-year-old Vivianne.
"Eric's first day of 2nd grade💙🙏🏽🥹 My handsome boy is getting so big 🥹💙," Decker wrote in honor of her oldest son, 7-year-old Eric Jr., in an Aug. 17 post.
Finally, Jessie documented her 5-year-old son Forrest's first day of kindergarten on Aug. 18. "Forresty!! Our sweet baby boy is officially a kindergartener . . . and what a lucky duck he gets to see his bff cousin Brooklyn everyday 💙," she wrote. Decker shares her three kids with her husband, Eric Decker.
Kevin Hart
The comedian shared an emotional post on Aug. 26 in honor of his 18-year-old daughter, Heaven, starting college. "I'm not crying your crying . . . So proud of my daughter . . . I can't even say little girl anymore because you have blossomed into the most amazing young woman ever!!!!!" he wrote. "God knows I am beyond proud of you and that I love you with my all. Fly Heav Fly . . . The world is yours!!!!! My baby girl is off to college . . . I cried in the car!!!! #Harts." Hart shares Heaven and Hendrix with ex-wife Torrei Hart and Kenzo and Kaori with his wife, Eniko Hart.
Hilary Duff
"First few days at school for MJ 💕 she didn't even turn back around . . . ," Duff wrote on July 11, sharing a photo of her daughters, 4-year-old Banks and 2-year-old Mae, on their first day of school. Duff shares the girls with husband Matthew Koma, and she also shares an 11-year-old son with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
Brittany Bell
Bell shared a sweet photo of her children Golden and Powerful all ready for school on Aug. 24. "'Twas the first day of school — swipe to see the real candid moments lol — for both my babies this time together!" she wrote in the caption. "And in good focused mom fashion I was too busy to worry about posting on time and all that hoopla. Yeah I said hoopla. 🤭🤣 just get it done mamas. Lol #themamagang oh and my first day back at doctoral program/ grad school too. But I'll share that later lol." Bell shares 6-year-old Golden, 2-year-old Powerful, and 10-month-old Rise Messiah with Nick Cannon.
Jana Kramer
On Aug. 4, the singer and actor shared photos of her 7-year-old daughter, Jolie, and her 4-year-old son, Jace, getting ready for school, though the kids seemed to have very different feelings about heading back to the classroom. "Someone is excited for their first day of school and someone is not 😂," she wrote. "#firstdayofschool 2nd grade and the last year of preschool here they come!" Kramer shares Jolie and Jace with ex-husband Mike Caussin, and in June, she revealed that she is expecting her third child with fiancé Allan Russell.
Alex Rodriguez
The baseball star shared a carousel of photos celebrating his 18-year-old daughter Natasha's first day at the University of Michigan. "Left my heart in Michigan 💙💛," he wrote. "Dropping off @thenatasharodriguez at college was one of the hardest, but most proud moments of being a father. Can't wait to watch her take on this big new chapter." Rodriguez also shares a 15-year-old daughter named Ella with ex Cynthia Scurtis.
Michael Strahan
Strahan celebrated his daughter Sophia's first day of college in an Aug. 21 Instagram post. "Dropped off the youngest of the tribe @sophialstrahan at college! Can't believe how time has flown by and I'm so proud of her," he wrote. "I know she's going to crush college life!! #DukeDad." He was also sure to reference her twin, Isabella. "I know she's a twin so @isabellastrahan pics coming soon! Lol," he added. He also shares Tanita and Michael Jr. with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins, and shares Isabella and Sophia with his second wife, Jean Muggli.
